(Baltimore, MD) – At 10:00 a.m. on October 9, Judge James K. Bredar will hold a public hearing on the progress the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) is making under the Consent Decree it entered last year with the United States Department of Justice (DOJ). The hearing will be held at the federal courthouse in Baltimore, located at 101 West Lombard Street. Judge Bredar, who is the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, will hear from BPD, DOJ and his Monitoring Team. The topics to be covered at the hearing include First Amendment-protected activity, interactions with individuals with behavioral health disabilities and in crisis, technology, staffing, and misconduct investigations and discipline.
